Question: What is the best age for a puppy to leave the litter?
Answer: Eight weeks is the minimum age for a puppy to leave the litter. It
is also illegal in some states/areas for breeders to sell any puppy under the age of eight weeks. For maximum benefits though,
it really is best to wait until twelve weeks before separating a pup from his mother and littermates. Puppies learn restraint
and proper play, including some bite inhibition from each other. For a well adjusted family member, leave him with his family
until he's twelve weeks old.
I
have up to date only sold two pups at 8 weeks one was to my Vet Iliya Belosovic who's practise is in Barrhead.
Iliya does all our farm vetting here on the farm and at his clinic in Barrhead. Under the advise of my Vet our farm
is a bio security farm. That ensures the health of my animals which benefits you. Pups are picked for you by myself
for your individual situation. I only sell high quality pups that are equal in quality but different in personalities
and drives, which I monitor and place by your unique home's situation.
To
qualify for a 8 week old pup you must have the home situation and experience to deal with a young pup! Must be one person
at home with the pup or in a working environment that allows the pup to be with you. Thank you for your understanding
and commitment to the health of your pup!
Last full farm visit was March 29, 2008.
All pups are seen in clinic and given health check by Iliya and his staff before leaving here for
your home. Iliya gives one shot I give the others!
